Life can be pretty dangerous when you're a bomb!

Experiment 60-m-b has escaped the lab and is on a mission to destroy his evil creators. Help the living super-weapon explode its way through 100 levels filled with other hostile super-weapons intent on stopping him.

  • A crank only game designed for the Playdate. Crank your way around the tracks and learn when to avoid your foes and when to explode right in their faces.
  • Set off chain reactions of explosions and hope your enemies all get caught in the blasts.
  • Fight your way through mines, nuclear devices, time-bombs, homing missiles and worse.
  • 100 levels, 3 different play modes and 9 types of enemy, to keep you on your toes. Or whatever bombs have instead of toes...

Remember if it moves blow it up.

Er, unless it's an armed thermonuclear device. In which case it's best to leave it alone.

Hey man,

Bombtrax caught my attention—it looks like a blast to play! What inspired you to create this game?

Are there any specific features or aspects you’re especially proud of in Bombtrax? I’m always curious about what excites developers the most when working on a project.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi Lucas,

there was a range of games out on the iPhone years back (the only one I can still find is Sneezies) that relied on setting off an explosion (or sometimes just a 'sneeze') and trying to catch other 'bombs' in it's blast range to create a chain reaction.  I wanted to see if a good game could be made where the bomb that started these chain reactions was constrained to a single track around the level.

Some of the levels are very puzzle-oriented and some are definitely more action-ey arcade style. I'm interested to see what people like / get annoyed with in the game as it's very different from anything I've done before, I don't think I've seen a game like it anywhere (it's certainly no Sneezies clone!) and that can be a good thing or the very thing that puts people off.

We'll see which way it goes :-)

That's so interesting! Your time and effort really shine through in the great outcome. I'll also subscribe to your channel to stay updated when it goes like live.

What would you say are your main goals for the game—such as growing a player base, increasing engagement, or generating revenue? Have you encountered any challenges in reaching those goals so far?

Thanks, hope you enjoy it!

crashes during level select 😬

Sorry to hear that. I've been unable to replicate the issue. Does it crash the first time you try and select a level or does it work most times and only seem to crash after playing for a while?

I have not been able to play yet. It crashes when selecting a stage. It lags really badly selecting the left to right stage select then just crashes

I've released a new version of the game with an optimised level select screen. I'm hoping this will fix your issue, as I'm not seeing it on my device. But a lot of people have described issues with lag so I'm hoping this version will be a little smoother.
